The Cinema screens first-run independent films, documentaries, and foreign films. Plus, we offer great programming around classic films, filmmakers, and even the greatest art exhibitions in the world, all on our screen.

Housekeeping

Salina Art Center is looking for a responsible and dependable individual to help us maintain a clean and comfortable Artist Residency apartment. The warehouse apartment is a one-bedroom, 520-square-foot apartment with a private bath, kitchenette, and laundry facilities. It is a non-smoking space, and no pets are allowed.  This contract is for cleaning the apartment only, and you are not responsible for cleaning or maintaining warehouse education facilities or public spaces.

  • Perform thorough cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and taking out trash for the apartment only. Warehouse housekeeping is separate.

  • Reset the apartment between artists so each artist arrives at a fresh, clean apartment. This will require lifting, crouching, bending, and reaching above the head or below the waist.

  • Collect and launder soiled linens and fold, sort, and put away clean laundry.

  • Report supply and equipment needs to the Director of Education and restock/replenish supplies as needed.

  • Report any necessary repairs noticed during cleaning.

You will set your schedule as long as the apartment is ready for new guests and cleaned at least once per week during an artist’s stay (coordinating a time with the artist so as not to be disruptive to their work).

This contract position is anticipated to require 1-3 hours per week through the summer (May-July). If interested, there may be opportunities to increase the scope of work and hours.

Pay is negotiable based on professional housekeeping standards.
