Are you an artist based in Kansas with a passion for showcasing your work? The SAC Gallery Gift Shop is always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our vibrant community of creators. If you're interested in selling your artwork with us, we invite you to submit your application for consideration.
Criteria for Artists:
To be represented in the SAC Gallery Gift Shop, artists must reside and work in Kansas and demonstrate a strong sense of creativity, craftsmanship, and technical ability. Our selection process is based on the appropriateness of your work for our Gift Shop, the price point of your items, and the artistic merit, craftsmanship, and uniqueness of your pieces.
Commission Policy:
Our commission policy ensures fair compensation for both artists and the Salina Art Center. We operate on a 70/30 commission split, with artists receiving 70% of the sale price and the Gallery receiving 30%. Additionally, we offer a 10% discount to Art Center Members, with artists receiving 85% of the discounted selling price.
Application Process:
To apply, please email the following information to mserene@salinaartcenter.org with the subject line "Gift Shop Application":
Artist information and links to your website, Etsy page, or Instagram
Images of at least five items with retail prices, availability, and materials
Notes on where you typically sell your work and your target audience
Review Process:
A committee consisting of Salina Art Center staff, board members, and volunteers will review your application within two business weeks. If your artwork is selected for inclusion in the Gift Shop, you will be contacted via email and required to sign a Gift Shop Sales Agreement.
Stay Connected:
Even if your application is not initially accepted, we will keep your information on file for 12 months, and you may be invited to sell in the Gift Shop Gallery during this time.
Important Note:
All 2D work must be “ready to hang.” This means it must be framed and wired unless otherwise discussed as part of the aesthetics of the piece. Please be aware that Salina Art Center reserves the right to decline an application based on our discretion.
