The Sunflower Biennial is a juried exhibition of visual art to recognize artists in Kansas ages 15-24 for dedication, achievement, and contribution to exchanges that reveal life. Guided by the basic human experience of creativity, infused with personal drive and environmental connection, the artists a part of The Sunflower Biennial: LIMITLESS demonstrate the extraordinary ability to create individualized statements that connect to their internal observations.This exhibition is a contemporary perspective of works, created by young Kansas artists, that display limitless Imagination, Innovation and Insight.

Meet the Juror

ALICIA KELLY

Alicia Kelly is a paper and sculpture artist living and working out of Lawrence, KS. Kelly is a Screenprint / Paper Arts instructor and facilitator of the High School based arts program, Hang12, at The Lawrence Arts Center. 

Alicia has exhibited in national and international exhibitions / residencies, including Bunnell Street Arts Center, (Homer, AK), Make Southwest (Devon, UK) and Proyecto Ace, (Buenos Aires, Argentina). She has been a guest curator at OffSite Gallery, SeedCo Studios and The Cider Gallery (Lawrence,KS).

She is currently a Cultural Arts Commissioner for the City of Lawrence and is an active member of The Paper Artist Collective and Guild of American Papercutters. Kelly received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking /Art History from the University of Kansas.
