Join us for Movie Munch, bite-sized conversations about movies that matter. In this conversation, we explore how otherness can distract from talent in American culture and the perseverance necessary to find our own voices. Our conversation will focus on two films: "Oliver Sacks: His Own Life," streaming from the Art Center Cinema beginning December 11, and "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" playing in the Cinema December 11-14.

In "Ma Rainey" tensions rise when trailblazing blues singer Ma Rainey and her band gather at a recording studio in Chicago in 1927. In the documentary film about the fascinating and sometimes troubled life of the famed neurologist, Oliver Sacks, friends, family members, colleagues, and patients discuss his remarkable life and career.

Movie Munch conversations typically last 45 minutes and are FREE events where everyone is welcome to participate in casual peer to peer conversations about what we loved, what we hated, and what we thought about the films.
