Streaming Films FAQ
While the Salina Art Cinema is closed we will be offering curated virtual screenings and discussions to entertain, educate, and engage you while we're apart! We're moving quickly to put this new service in place, so please be patient if we run into some initial technical issues.
Below, we will do our best to answer most of your questions about all the different programming we'll be offering. If you have additional questions, please submit a support request here.
Q: HOW DO I WATCH THE FILMS?
A: Every new release we offer will be available through the individual distributor's websites and streaming services. You'll be taken to their websites to purchase and watch the film, but a portion of your ticket will help support the Art Cinema. In most cases you will have to create or sign into an account with the distributor and you will pay using a credit card on the distributors site.
You'll find details about each film and distributor and/or platform below.
Oscilloscope
You will get access to watch on any internet-connected device, including laptops, tablets and smartphones, AppleTV , Chromecast , and more .
After you’ve entered your payment information, your rental period will start immediately and last for three days.

Kino Marquee
Roku app sometimes has slow load time. We are planning to introduce a new app, but not ready for this effort.
AppleTV app only works on devices running tvOS 9 or later. To view film after purchasing via Desktop or Mobile, go to “My Library” option at top of Apple TV homepage.
Amazon Fire app not yet available, hope to have one launched soon.
Google Chromecast (and other “casting” options built into Smart TVs) works for many folks but not all.
Theatrical-At-Home
Most customers are able to mirror (screencast) to their TV through Apple TV AirPlay or Chromecast as long as the device and TV are on the same network. From your Safari or Chrome browser, click on the mirroring button in the lower right corner of the video.

Q: I JUST PURCHASED THE FILM, BUT I DON'T SEE HOW TO WATCH IT?
A: First, check your email, and make sure your purchase went through. For many platforms, the email you were sent should have a link for you to watch the film. If you are still having issues, please submit a support request here.
Q: I'M A CINEMA SOCIETY OR ART CENTER MEMBER; IS THERE A MEMBER PRICE?
A: Unfortunately, due to our agreements with distributors, we aren't able to offer member pricing for these films. But don't worry—we'll be extending your member benefits for the length of the closure when we re-open. These rentals will help ensure that we are able do that—and if you'd consider an additional donation to the Art Cinema, you can do so here. Thank you for your support!
Q: CAN I USE ART CENTER GIFT CARDS FOR streaming FILMS?
A: Unfortunately, that's not an option at the moment. You'll be able to use them when we reopen—thank you for your support!
