Ages 7-10 | 10-11:30am or 1-2:30pm | Come explore the ancient art of Chinese brush painting! Learn how to use special tools such as bamboo brushes and ink. Practice a variety of brushstrokes and understand how to put those brushstrokes together to create images. Create multiple paintings to take home, including a landscape painting that incorporates a frisket technique!

Ages 4-6 | Have you ever wished you could change something about yourself? Add something new or take something away? We will explore some books like Snarlyhissopus by Alan MacDonald, Still a Gorilla by Kim Norman, and I Wish that I had Duck Feet by Dr. Seuss and create our own crazy critters.

Join us on June 27 for an Artist Talk with Terry Evans as she discusses the ideas and images behind Tales of Dakota Sandstone.

Ages 7-10 | 10-11:30am or 1-2:30pm | Everybody loves a small bag in which to hold a treasure. We will use special fabric crayons to create a drawing that we will transfer onto fabric and then carefully hand stitch this into a bag to keep your special finds. This class is designed for kids that have had some experience in sewing and are willing to further develop their skills to make small and even stitches.

Ages 4-6 | We will explore the great outdoors this week! Come join the fun as we create a campfire, a lantern, a woodland animal and more!

Ages 11-14 | Play and creativity collide in this class as you explore a variety of fun, interactive art games and exercises designed to spark your imagination, build your skills, and push the boundaries of your creativity.

In this class we will macrame a small wall hanging and learn the three basic knots that will equip you to make most every macrame pattern you find on the internet! You might just get hooked on this fun fiber art form!

Ages 4-6 | This week we are inspired by the movie “Moana”. We will create the heart of Tafiki, make a seashell frame, a shiny crab and a Moana flower headband.

Join us for the Opening Reception of High Strangeness: Encounters with the Unexplained in Kansas and Beyond and Tales of Dakota Sandstone | Terry Evans.

Ages 11-14 | Ahoy, Artists! In this class, you'll create pirate maps, coins, jewlery, and flags, and learn to paint a pirate ship out at sea. You'll have a treasure chest full of art skills by the end of this class, and a collection of pirate themed masterpieces.

Ages 4-6 | Tea anyone? We will explore Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatters Tea Party in this fun imagination filled class. We will make a Mad Hatters hat headband, a magical teapot and a Cheshire cat.

Ages 7-10 | Students will blast off this summer creating planets, ships, and crazy aliens. They will use clay, acrylic paints, watercolors, and more!
